I do agree with you Leimrod. Personally I don't believe in God in the traditional sense. Instead I believe in the power the lies hidden within all of us. It is how we use this force that determines our level of fulfillment as we move through life.

On the other hand, there are many other people who believe in a God-like figure or Higher Power. And it is usually their faith in this figure that helps them get through the obstacles confronting their personal reality.

Finally, you make a great point. We do need the support of others, their compassion, understanding and encouragement to help us through the toughest of times. It is this support that can make a world of difference to all of our lives.

Great list, I've bookmarked it. Although I couldn't disagree more with recommending someone to develop a faith in a deity. In this day and age you should really be encouraging a faith in the real and in humanity. We don't need an imaginary friend to get us through tough times, we need real people and a grounded perspective on the life/death cycle and how we are all a part of it.

You'll only be truly happy when you realize how fragile your life is and how amazing it is that you even managed to get it at all.

Hi Marisa,

You make a very good point. Our entire society is built upon pessimism and negative consequences. Whether it's on the news, in the papers, overhearing a couple of people talking, or simply watching what is going on within this world. It's very difficult to step away from this world physically or mentally. However, if we stay focused on the positive and we work on enhancing the little things that many of us usually take for granted, than we will at least minimize these negative influences and take control of our own perceptions and reality.
