One of the first issues all leadership books seem to tackle is the trait or behavior paths. Are people born with leadership ability, or can it be developed. In our book, Leadership: Texas Hold ‘em Style we tackle the issue by defining leadership as “The art of influencing human behavior toward organizational goals.” We used the word art, because we believe that leadership, like other arts, has an underlying science that can be learned and improved upon. Yes, some are born Mozart, but with learning and practice, anyone can learn to play an instrument.
