An In-Depth Exploration into the Psychology of Manifestation

Man’s power of choice enables him to think like an angel or a devil, a king or a slave. Whatever he chooses, the mind will create and manifest. – Frederick Bailes

The Principles Behind the Process of Manifestation

Let me just begin by saying that I don’t believe in manifestation as most people probably believe it. The process of manifestation isn’t as simple as thinking optimistically and then waiting for those positive thoughts to manifest into your life. This process is way too simplistic and doesn’t take into account an incredible array of factors that must be aligned to help you manifest your desired outcomes.

Along the same lines, let’s not talk about manifestation as something miraculous that’s “out of this world”. Manifestation is simply the act of aligning yourself with your desired intentions/goals and then taking the necessary steps to bring those desired intentions/goals to fruition. There’s nothing miraculous about it. It’s simply a process that requires a little understanding and a lot of effort on your part to bring those desired intentions into reality.

A lot of background information about vibrational energy frequencies, about levels of consciousness, about thought patterns, and about the nature of the brain has already been outlined in the following posts:

In fact, these topics only touch the surface of what it takes to manifest your desired outcomes into your life. For a detailed explanation of all the elements that are required for manifestation to work, please see the relevant links found within the MasterMind Matrix chart. These links will provide you with all the information you need to fully understand how the process of manifestation works from a psychological, physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and metaphysical perspective.

As you read through all these articles you will discover that the process of manifestation is heavily reliant upon the right balance and alignment of your thoughts, beliefs, needs, values, self-concept, self-esteem, self-ideal, self-image, meta-programs, psychological rules, environmental and social influences, attitude, the questions you ask, the words you use, your habitual patterns of behavior, your mental and emotional states, psychological anchors, physiology, and a great deal more that must align with your desired intentions. If anyone of these psychological elements are misaligned, then you will tend to persistently sabotage yourself as you work towards your desired objectives. And no matter how positively you might think, things will simply not go your way because your psyche is misaligned with your intentions.

Because all these other articles cover this process in great depth, we will not go into those details within this article. However, we will look at specific things you can do to help you manifest your desires into your life once all aspects of your psyche are aligned with your desired intentions.

Please keep in mind that what you’re about to read is based on theory and speculation. In fact, some of these things have no foundations in science or psychology. They are based on spiritual teachings that extend into metaphysics, however, they do tend to cross over into the realm of human psychology. As such, some things will make complete sense based on our understanding of the human psyche, while other things might be a little hard to believe. However, all I ask is that you reserve judgment until the very end. It’s important to keep an open mind. Only through trial and error will you figure out what works best for you.

Remember that manifestation is not about positive thinking. It’s about experiencing balance and congruence within a variety of areas of your psyche. That is the only way you will attain your desired objectives, and there certainly isn’t any other way around it. A great deal must first be understood about the human psyche before we are able to consciously make the process of manifestation work in our lives.

Tapping into the Universal Mind

Every one of your thoughts has its origins within a Universal Mind. This Universal Mind is a collective consciousness that connects everything and everyone into a computer database type of structure. You might call this a collective consciousness, God, a spiritual power, or an infinite intelligence. It really doesn’t matter what label you give it, as long as you acknowledge that it’s there in some shape or form.

This database is made up of energy fluctuations. It contains within it all the thoughts, ideas and intentions that human beings have had since the beginning of time. It’s very much like a library of knowledge and information that manifests in the form of a collective psyche that forms the foundations of our universal beliefs about life and about the world we live in. In fact, this collective consciousness is the thing that shapes how we perceive our universe. It’s so powerful and influential that it actually manifests the scientific laws that govern our existence here on earth. Everything from gravity to light, to time, to sight, to movement, etc, is governed by this Universal Mind. And whenever we experience a thought, we simply borrow that “thought” from this Universal Mind. As such, we don’t ever have any “unique” thoughts. We rather experience thoughts that we haven’t used before. They are certainly unique to us but have also existed since the beginning of time.

Science has theorized that time does not exist. It’s simply a figment of our own imaginations — a figment of our collective consciousness — and perspectives of the world. In fact, the memories you have in your head give you the impression that time exists. Without those memories, there would be nothing but the present moment. The past would not exist, and the future would not exist either. Without memories there would just be “right now” and nothing else.

Have a think about it… If you couldn’t remember anything from the past, and you couldn’t plan for the future, your brain would only exist in the present moment. And within this present moment time would not exist, because time is dependent upon your memories of the past, and plans for the future. Therefore “time” is simply a figment of our own imaginations — a figment of our own memories.

If time does not exist then your past, present and future are all happening at the same time. Everything you are, everything you have been, and everything you will be in the future is all one and the same. It’s all happening at the same time and therefore you are connected to all parts of yourself all of the time. As such, what you do within one moment affects you in all other moments because nothing exists but the present moment — everything is one “thing”. There is no separation and there is no difference.

Could this potentially provide us with insights into the process that’s at work when we think about karma?

Thoughts, Evolution, and Manifestation

Every thought you have creates neuro-peptides, which are protein molecules within the body that “theoretically” begin the manifestation process.

Every thought you have vibrates at a certain level of energy. This thought is nothing more than pure energy and has a tendency to influence the energy around you. As such, your thought directly affects the sub-atomic world you live in. In other words, your thoughts affect the structure of the molecules that create your cells and shape the world around you. As a result, they trigger the manifestation process.

Over the course of time, humans and other creatures that have roamed this planet have evolved across a time-span of millions and billions of years. Over this period of time, these creatures have changed shape, form, and structure. In fact, at one time only unicellular organisms (single-celled organisms) existed on this planet. However, over time these organisms evolved into multicellular organisms, and then into amphibians, insects, reptiles, mammals, birds, humans, etc. Have you ever wondered how these “evolutions” took place? How did creatures develop eyes, ears, teeth, claws, tongues, legs, hands, etc? How did all this come about? And more important, why?

Every evolutionary step has come about because of a problem. The very first unicellular organisms evolved because of changes in their environment that placed them under intense pressures. These intense pressures created problems, and these problems probably killed-off a lot of these organisms. However, some organisms survived because of possible genetic mutations that allowed them to live where others died.

Over time, as creatures on this planet became more complex in form and structure, they faced a different set of problems. These problems forced them to think differently about themselves, about their environment and about how to survive in this changing world. As they thought differently about these things, their mind expanded the possibilities that lay before them. And over time, this created genetic mutations that allowed these creatures to adapt to these problems and therefore survive in a changing world.

Have you ever considered how birds developed wings? Have you ever considered how a camel developed a hump on its back? And have you ever thought about how a giraffe grew such a long neck? All of these changes took place over millions of years and were forced upon these creatures as they tried to adapt to their ever-changing environment.

These creatures were faced with constant problems that threatened their survival. These problems encouraged them to start thinking a little differently about their world. And because their instinct was to “survive”, they were forced to think more expansively about their life. Of course, for a lot of these creatures, it might have been a little too late. They failed to adapt quickly enough, and as a result, they didn’t survive long-term. However, some creatures thought differently about these problems, and their thoughts created protein molecules that triggered the manifestation process.

Let’s look at a giraffe for a moment. The giraffe has an unusually long neck. However, it didn’t always have a long neck. Its neck grew over time as a survival mechanism. It needed a longer neck in order to reach the leaves on the tallest of trees. Just maybe at one point, the trees started to grow very tall and food was very scarce at the lower tree levels. In order to survive the giraffe population thought to itself that we need to be able to reach higher up these trees to eat those nourishing leaves. There was just not enough food on the lower levels, and that’s probably because other animals were competing for this food. As a result of these factors, the giraffe population had a major dilemma on its hands. They must either figure out how to reach the high lying leaves on the trees, or they might as well starve to death.

This thought-process that the giraffe population underwent created new neuron-connections within the brain. This consequently changed the composition of matter at the molecular level. Now, of course, the giraffe’s neck didn’t just suddenly grow overnight. However, these changes within their brain immediately reprogrammed the genes of the next generation of giraffes that were due to come into this world. And when this new generation was born, they had slightly longer necks then the previous generation of giraffes. However, their necks still weren’t long enough. And so they had the same desires as their parents to keep reaching higher and higher to eat their food; which reprogrammed their genes once again, and as a result, the generations of giraffe that followed had even longer necks.

This manifestation process of course takes time. The giraffe population had a problem, then they had an intention that would help them overcome this problem. And their intention created the necessary neuro-peptides in their brain that allowed them to manifest a longer neck over the course of millions of years of evolution.

Now, this is, of course, fantastic news, however, you probably want to manifest things a little quicker than waiting for millions of years of evolution to take place. And of course, this is very possible as long as you don’t hold the intention that your neck will grow two meters longer over the course of a year. 😉

Evolutionary manifestations certainly take a long time. However, physical manifestations where you hold onto a desire to achieve certain goals and objectives doesn’t need to take this long. It can be a very quick process (ranging from weeks to years), however, it requires many parts of your psyche to come into full alignment. The moment this occurs, the manifestation process will work for you in the same way it did for the giraffe population.

Two Universal Principles of Manifestation

There is a theory known as the Vacuum Theory. This theory states that energy is always seeking balance. Therefore the energy you project out into the world via your thoughts and emotions gets returned to you in the same form. What this means is that when you lash out in anger at someone, that energy will eventually come back to you because it seeks to fill the missing void. Now of course, this doesn’t mean that someone will now suddenly lash out at you in anger. What it does mean is that you will receive something in return that matches that energy signature that you just sent out. Therefore as a result of being angry you might experience stress or anxiety. Both stress and anxiety have a very similar energy signature to anger and are therefore emotions you might readily experience after bouts of anger.

The Vacuum Theory is built upon the principles of energy fluctuations and levels of consciousness. For a detailed account of this topic please read The Science of Manifestation.

Another principle behind the process of manifestation is known as the Butterfly Effect. The Butterfly Effect is the title of a movie that explores this topic in detail. The theory states that seemingly insignificant choices and decisions you make have a significant impact on future outcomes and circumstances.

It’s called the Butterfly Effect because it is said that a single flap of a butterfly’s wings on one side of the world can dramatically change the weather patterns on the other side of the world. This is, of course, a theory, however, it actually does make a lot of sense.

Have a think about all the significant choices and decisions you have made in your life. How have they changed the course of your life?

Now, have a think about the small and insignificant choices and decisions you made that might have led to significant changes in your life. For instance, leaving five minutes late to work one day meant that you caught the 8:00 am instead of the 7:30 am bus. And while riding the bus you decide to give your seat to an elderly lady. As you stand you start chatting with this guy who tells you about a great cafe where they serve the best coffee in town. Some weeks later you’re driving through town and you catch a glimpse of that cafe. You’re in a rush, but decide to make a quick stopover to grab one of those famous coffees. There you meet a waiter or waitress who catches your eye. You guys quickly hit it off, and before you know it you’re married with three kids. 🙂

Thinking back to how these events took place, you realize that if you weren’t running late to work that one day, you wouldn’t have been on the 8:00 am. Likewise, if you wouldn’t have given up your seat to that elderly lady, you wouldn’t have spoken to the guy who recommended you visit the cafe. And if you wouldn’t have decided to walk into the cafe on that day, then you wouldn’t have met your future husband or wife.

All of these events seem rather insignificant, however, they significantly affected the course of your entire life. That is the Butterfly Effect at work.

It could also be said that events might not have worked out this way if it wasn’t for the Vacuum Theory. You sent out positive energy by giving up your seat on the bus. There was now a void left behind that needed to be filled. This void was filled by the man who provided you with a recommendation to visit the cafe. Now, of course, you never saw the correlation between “giving up your seat” and the random recommendation of the cafe. However, these correlations occur all the time, whether we understand them or not. Energy always fills the void, and therefore your good intentions came back to you another way in the form of a recommendation. The incredible thing was that at the time you were longing to meet someone special, and the events that took place that day laid down the path for you to bring your goal to fruition.

In this scenario, you were fully congruent and balanced. And when you’re balanced in this way, random things can happen that will activate the manifestations process to help you bring your goals to fruition. In actuality, this manifestation process is occurring all of the time — for better or worse. You are always manifesting something in your life, and most of the time you are not even consciously aware of it. You are in fact in the process of manifestation 24/7. You are a creature of manifestation because every thought you have and emotion you experience sends a message out into the universe about your intentions. And it’s these intentions that are made real in your life over time, whether you consciously want them or not.

Finally, it’s important to point out that there is a difference between what you want and what you get. What you want on the surface might be wonderful. However, how you’re conditioned below the surface at an unconscious level of awareness is what actually matters most. There must, therefore, be alignment and congruence between your conscious intentions and subconscious desires. If congruence doesn’t exist, then your subconscious desires will always take preference.

You can read more about this process and about how it shapes your life within an article entitled Understanding the Nature of the Brain. In fact, you will find bits and pieces of this entire process scattered through various articles exploring the MasterMind Matrix. Reading through those articles in their entirety will provide you with a complete picture of how the human psyche guides the manifestation process.

The Manifestation Triangle

The manifestation triangle stipulates that being, doing and having lead to the process of manifestation. In other words, what you desire, intend, want and are passionate about, you’ll end up getting as long as your conscious intentions are consistent with your subconscious desires.

The key word within this triangle is “being”. In order to align your subconscious desires with your conscious intentions, you must “be” the person you intend to be before you do what you need to do, in order to have what you want to have in your life. You are, therefore “being” and “doing” before “having”. However, most people try to “do” then “have” and they forget all about “being”. And this is what lets them down.

Okay, so this might not make complete sense just yet. Let’s try explaining it another way.

The goals that you would like to achieve require that you cultivate a certain set of beliefs, thoughts, values, psychological rules, expectations, personal standards, etc. When you cultivate these things you align yourself with the goal you are wanting to have in your life. You are, therefore “being” the person you need to be, first and foremost, before you do the things you need to do to achieve your goals.

Every goal you set requires certain things from you. It requires that you believe certain things about yourself, about others and about circumstances; it requires that you set certain expectations and personal standards; it requires that you make specific sacrifices; it requires that you re-prioritize you values; and it also requires you think certain thoughts and maybe even adopt specific kinds of habits that will allow you to make the right decisions and take the necessary actions to bring your goal to fruition. There are a lot of elements of your psyche that play a part here. Yet, what’s most important to remember is that you must first “become” the person that deserves to “have” this goal before you take the necessary actions to achieve that goal.

Think of your goal as having certain terms and conditions attached to it. Every goal you set requires something from you. It requires that you think a certain way, that you believe specific things, that you re-prioritize your values accordingly, that you make specific sacrifices, etc. When you meet these terms and conditions you align yourself with the attainment of that goal. And as a result, once you achieve that goal, you won’t have any troubles holding onto it. However, if you’re not fully aligned with the terms and conditions set by that goal, then you will struggle to achieve the goal. And if in some miraculous way you do achieve your goal, you will struggle to hold onto it long-term.

Have a think about all those lottery winners who won a fortune, but then lost it all within a few short months or years. These people somehow manifested this fortune into their lives, however, they didn’t have the necessary mindset (beliefs, values, psychological rules, expectations) in place to keep this fortune. And as a result, they lost it all, and maybe even ended up in a much worse financial position than before they won the lottery. They indirectly manifested this fortune into their lives for all the wrong reasons. This manifestation might have very well come from a subconscious level of awareness, which provided them with an initial boost, but then quickly pushed them down again to their baseline level where they naturally feel most comfortable.

These people couldn’t handle their goal because psychologically they weren’t programmed or ready to meet the terms and conditions of this goal. Yes, they certainly were financially rich, however, they still operated from a “financially poor” mentality. And it’s this mentality that caused their downfall.

The lesson in this is that in order to manifest the goals you want in your life, you must first become the person you need to be to achieve and hold onto those goals. Becoming this person will help guide the decisions you must make and the actions you must take to have this goal in your life. And “becoming” this person occurs at the subconscious level.

Your subconscious desires must be aligned with your conscious intentions, or otherwise there just won’t be enough congruence to manifest this goal into your life, and as a result, you will continue to sabotage yourself in numerous ways despite doing all the right things. As such, you must “be”, then “do”, and then you’ll “have”. This is the process that lies at the core of manifestation.

The Manifestation Triangle

The Manifestation Process

There is a quick three-step process for manifestation that you can use at any time. However, this process relies on the fact that you have a clear understanding of what it is you want to accomplish, and secondly that your intentions are fully aligned on both a conscious and subconscious level. The manifestation process will only work for you if these two conditions are met.

Below you will find the three-step manifestation process:

Step 1: Set a Clear Outcome and Goal

Your first step is to set a clear outcome/goal that you would like to achieve. Ask yourself:

What goal would I like to achieve?

What would I like to manifest into my life?

You must set this outcome with emotional intent while relinquishing all doubt in your mind. If any doubts exist, then this suggests that you are experiencing internal conflicts between your subconscious mind and conscious brain. These conflicts must be addressed if you are to achieve this goal successfully.

To address these conflicts you will need to identify where exactly these conflicts exist. For instance, you might have conflicting beliefs, or you might have conflicting values or goals. You might also have conflicting expectations, unhelpful thoughts, peer pressures, etc. There are many possibilities here.

The best way to work through these conflicts is to refer to the MasterMind Matrix. Have a read through the chart and then delve deeper into areas that you feel are most relevant to you. However, keep in mind that conflicts might exist in multiple areas. If this is the case in your situation, then you will need to work through each of these areas individually in order to align your subconscious desires with your conscious intentions.

If you only have minor conflicts, then using affirmations, effective questioning techniques, and/or visualization might help you to overcome these challenges. However, if you continue to struggle to achieve your goal, then this is a clear indication that there are some major conflicts in place that will require a little more focused attention. Work through these areas first, and only after these areas have been addressed successfully should you “do” the things you need to do to achieve your goals and objectives.

Remind yourself that it’s all about “being” then “doing” than “having”. That is how manifestation works. You can’t just jump over “being”. You must instead work through each of these areas one step at a time.

Step 2: Let Go of Your Desired Outcome

Step two of this process requires that you let go of the outcome you have set. This simply means detaching yourself emotionally from your desired objectives.

The more emotionally involved you are in something, the more likely things will misalign between your conscious intentions and subconscious desires. This will often result in self-sabotage and will most likely prevent you from obtaining your desired outcomes.

Yes, of course, be passionate about your goal, however, don’t be emotionally attached to the process of achieving your goal. Your goal will be attained if you stay focused and do the right things. However, keep in mind that the journey towards that goal might not come about as expected. You cannot predict the twists and turns that might take place. As such, you must have trust — you must trust the process and trust that you are on the right path moving forward.

Bad things and unfortunate occurrences might very well cross your path. However, these things shouldn’t worry you because the journey to your goal is unpredictable. As such, it’s important that you never jump to quick conclusions or make assumptions about how things are or how they should be. Just trust that you’re on the right path while ensuring that congruence exists between your subconscious desires and conscious intentions at all times.

Step 3: Cultivate Trust, Faith, and Hope

Every decision you make and action you take moving towards the attainment of your goal must align with that goal. Therefore your thoughts, words, emotions, behaviors, beliefs, values, physiology, etc, must all align with your intentions. And your subconscious desires and conscious intentions must also be aligned to ensure that every part of “you” is working towards that same goal.

It’s also important at this time not to offer any resistance. Setbacks will come and go, and you will experience problems and challenges along your journey towards that goal. However, you must not allow this to discourage you. You must now focus all your efforts on doing what you need to do to achieve this goal, despite these setbacks. Don’t lose yourself in emotional turmoil and just focus on staying the course. Have trust and faith that things will work out in your favor in unexpected ways.

When your subconscious desires and conscious intentions are fully aligned the world will present you with people, information, coincidences, and unexpected opportunities. This is the manifestation process at work. It will bring into your life certain things that will help you to attain your desired objectives. However, be ready to accept that some of these things may come to you in the form of problems. And that’s perfectly okay. These things might initially seem problematic, however, they are actually opportunities in disguise. You must, therefore, capitalize on these coincidences to keep building the momentum you need to attain your desired goals and objectives.

No matter what comes your way, take the path that feels right, and let go of all other paths. You will take advantage of some opportunities and not others. And that’s perfectly okay. Just stay aligned and vigilant. And above all else, be grateful for whatever life throws your way.

Steve Jobs once said:

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.” — [Stanford commencement speech, June 2005]

And so, you might not understand where your life is heading today, however, have trust and faith that it is all heading in the right direction.

Bonus Step 4: Take Massive Action Toward Your Goal

There is, of course, a bonus step that requires you to take MASSIVE ACTION towards the attainment of your goals and objectives.

Absolutely nothing will happen if you don’t take massive action towards your desired outcomes because with action comes new opportunity and perspectives. You can’t, for instance, expect that an opportunity will fall into your lap while sitting at home watching television. However, opportunities can certainly fall into your lap if you’re out there in the world talking to new people, taking risks and doing important things. That is how opportunity will come your way. It will certainly not come knocking at your door.

The Principles Behind Manifestation

Guidelines for Manifestation

Now that you have a clear understanding of what is required to manifest the things you want in your life, here are some further guidelines that can help you work through this process far more effectively:

Don’t Offer Resistance

The moment you offer any kind of resistance is the moment you are sending counterproductive intentions out into the universe. Resistance can, of course, come in the form of doubt, regret, anger, frustration, worry, stress, anxiety, etc. By indulging in these emotions you are sending conflicting messages into the world. You are telling the universe that you want one thing, however at the same time you are sending messages that suggest you want something else.

Worrying about something is a form of negative visualization. While worrying you are visualizing all these negative things that you expect to occur in the future. You are fully absorbed in these worries and your entire body, mind, and spirit are working together to help support your worries. Is it any surprise that the universe is getting the wrong message?

Remember, the universe/spirit doesn’t distinguish between what is good or bad, right or wrong, painful or pleasurable. It simply helps bring your intentions to life. Therefore if your intentions are focused on all the negative things that might happen to you, then that is what will tend to manifest in your life. As such, it’s absolutely critical that no matter how many problems you have or how much uncertainty you face, that you don’t offer any resistance.

If for instance things are suddenly not working in your favor, then remind yourself that you don’t quite fully understand the bigger picture. What might seem problematic now, might actually be an opportunity in disguise. Just stay vigilant and focused on the things that need to get done, and allow everything you can’t control to take care of itself.

Avoid Naysayers

You might have the best intentions in mind, however, there is just one problem: those naysayers in your life. Naysayers are the people who doubt you, who doubt your ability and will do almost anything to keep you from succeeding.

The purpose of a naysayer is to keep you grounded in reality. However, when it comes to manifestation, it’s not so much about your “current reality”, it’s more about creating an ideal reality that you are working towards. Therefore, don’t get overly absorbed in what other people believe, think or say about you. Their opinion is none of your business. Your business is your own life, and you are in the process of creating that life with purpose — not allowing others to create that life for you.

Therefore avoid naysayers whenever you can. And if you can’t avoid them, then humor them. Use their pessimism to help motivate you to work harder towards your desired outcomes.

Focus on the Right Things

To manifest what you want in your life you must focus on only the things you want (your passions) and the person you desire to be. Don’t focus on what others want for you; on what you don’t want; on what has been (regrets); or on your current reality. Instead, create your reality with purpose. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you should ignore your problems. Never ignore your problems. However, what it does mean is that you should never feel overwhelmed by your problems. You’re not overwhelmed because you view your problems as opportunities that you haven’t as yet taken advantage of. Although, viewing your problems in this way might require some self-assurance and confidence.

Have you heard of the saying: “Fake it till you make it”? What this means is that if you’re lacking in confidence you will choose instead to act confident. Become an actor in a movie who needs to act confidently for their role. Over time, the more you “act” confident, the more confident you will feel, and sooner or later you will no longer feel the need to “act” because you will simply “be” confident.

This principle works because as you “act confident” you begin to focus on the right kinds of things that will help you feel more confident. And as you focus on the right things you build the necessary references that help shape your beliefs about your life and circumstances. And as your beliefs strengthen you begin taking more positive action towards the attainment of your goals and objectives, which is when your confidence goes up yet another notch.

In order to act a certain way and to focus on the right kinds of things requires that you discipline your thoughts. And to discipline your thoughts you need to have a little patience. Both patience and discipline will allow you to refocus yourself on the things that are most important. And when you’re focused on the most important things, you will naturally be more vigilant and aware of potential opportunities that might come your way.

Work out of Faith and Love

No matter what is happening in your life right now; no matter how bad things might seem; no matter how terrible the future appears; always operate out of faith and love. Have faith that things will work out for the better, and then send love out into the world by helping others in a positive way.

Both faith and love are important because they help direct your focus and attention to the right things when your world seems to be falling apart. They allow you to operate out of an attitude of non-resistance where you shift from a state of “doubt” to a state of “believing” and “knowing”. There is suddenly certainty behind your thoughts, decisions, and actions. And it’s this certainty that will help pull you in the right direction.

Develop Your Intuition

Intuition is a state where you have the ability to understanding something immediately without the need for conscious reasoning. It’s an instinctive feeling you have about something that directs your focus and attention.

Intuition is a rather important component of the manifestation process because it helps you make decisions that are best aligned with your subconscious desires and intentions. As long as these intentions are congruent with your conscious intentions, then your intuition will serve you well. However, if inconsistencies exist between your conscious and subconscious intentions, then your intuition will often lead you astray.

One of the best ways to tap into your intuition is through the process of meditation. Meditation will help you to tune-in to your subconscious thoughts, inner desires and intentions. It will provide you with a means of aligning your conscious intentions with your subconscious intentions, thereby allowing you to reach a state of congruency and balance.

Give What You Seek

Do you recall the Vacuum Theory we discussed a little earlier? Remember how energy is always trying to seek balance. When you release one kind of energy, that energy comes back to you in a similar form. For this very reason, it’s important to always give that which you seek. Therefore if you want more love in your life, then be more loving. If you want more money in your life then be more giving of your time and energy to help other people earn more money.

It’s important to note that, when it comes to things such as money, that it’s not about giving away money then expecting that you will get money in return. If you have nothing to give, then it’s just not going to work. Giving away everything you have will only put you on the street. Instead focus on helping other people get what you are trying to get. So whether that is money, health, love, harmony, etc, makes no difference. The key is to be constantly helping others with positive intention and no expectation.

Keep in mind that when you help another person, that it’s unlikely you will get that same energy in return from that person. The world doesn’t work that way. The energy you just sent out will come back to you from unexpected sources. Sometimes it might come back to you quickly, while other times it will take a little more time. The most important thing is to just keep giving that which you seek to have in your own life. The energy will come back to you sooner or later in many different ways. Just stay focused on helping others and contribute to the world in a positive way. That is the surest and quickest way to manifest the things you want most in your life.

Guidelines for Manifesting the Life of Your Dreams

The Universal Laws of Manifestation

The only reason the manifestation process works is because of a set of universal laws that govern life as we know it. These universal laws are laws that consistently create your life, your reality, and your perspective of the world. They are the forces that work in the background and shape your life without your knowledge. In fact, your psyche including your thoughts, beliefs, values, self-concept, and emotions all work in accordance with the principles outlined within these universal laws. As such, without these laws in place, the manifestation process as we described it here would simply not work. It only works because these laws are shaping your life as you know it.

The Law of Expectation

The Law of Expectation states that whatever you expect with confidence becomes your reality.

The expectations you have about anything forms the foundations of your belief systems. You expect something because you believe that something specific will happen.

Your belief systems likewise influence the decisions you will make and the actions you will take on a daily basis. Moreover, whatever you believe to be the truth you believe with confidence. And it’s these beliefs that determine what you will tend to expect of yourself, of others and about circumstances. As such, the Law of Expectation is at work all the time and manifests through the core beliefs you tend to hold onto.

The Law of Correspondence

The Law of Correspondence states that the outer world is nothing more than a reflection of your inner world.

The person you are on the inside (your psyche) is made up of a combination of beliefs, psychological rules, meta-programs, values, thoughts, a self-concept, etc. All of these parts of your psyche make up your personality, or in other words the persona you project out into the world. This persona will make certain decisions, say particular things, and take specific kinds of actions based on how the psyche has been conditioned over time. And all these things it says, decides upon, and does, allow you to experience certain outcomes in life.

This persona, of course, has its limitations. These limitations are based on what’s going on internally. For instance, limiting beliefs and unhelpful thoughts will prevent the persona from doing certain things in the physical world. It’s therefore limited by the conditioning the psyche has received over a lifetime. And as such, the outer world will correspond with the inner world of the psyche. The persona will simply not be able to do things that the inner world of the psyche isn’t conditioned to do. What this means is that the internal world of the psyche will, therefore, limit the persona’s choices, decisions, and actions in ways that mirror the internal world. Therefore the outer world simply becomes a reflection of the inner world in every way. After all, if you don’t believe you can do something internally, then you will find it extremely difficult to do externally.

What all this essentially suggests is that change must begin from “within” before it can be externalized within the physical world.

The Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction states that what you pay attention to you attract more of into your life. In other words, your thoughts have magnetic pulling power.

You are either a pessimist, a realist or an optimist. Or you could very well be a combination of these three in certain situations. No matter what your combination is, you are always thinking thoughts. And it’s these thoughts that attract either problems or opportunities into your life. And there is a very simple explanation why this happens.

Your brain cannot process everything at a conscious level. It, therefore, filters certain things out of conscious awareness throughout the day. It only brings to your attention the things that are most important and relevant. And the most important things are the thoughts you give most attention to on a consistent basis. Therefore if you are focused on the negatives of a situation, then your brain will see “that” as being important to you. And it will, therefore, alert you to all the negative things in your life. However, if on the other hand, you focus on the positives, then your brain will filter through into conscious awareness all the good things that can help improve your life or your situation.

What all this suggests is that you will continue to attract into your conscious awareness people, circumstance and things that are aligned with your dominant thinking patterns. Therefore if you always focus on problems, then you will attract more problems into your life. However, if on the other hand you are focused on the things you are most grateful for, then your brain will naturally filter through more of the things that will make you feel good about yourself and about your life.

Your thoughts are therefore a magnetic filter that brings to your conscious awareness everything that is aligned with the magnetic pulling power of each thought. As such, your circumstances are either good or bad depending on how you’ve attracted things into your life via your dominant thinking patterns.

The Law of Concentration

The Law of Concentration states that what you focus on tends to grow in your reality.

You are always focusing on certain things and not on other things. The things you focus on become important to you, and you will, therefore, find other things to focus on that are related to the areas you are giving most attention to. As such, what you give your attention to grows in your reality.

Consider for a moment one of your friends pointing out that she’s shocked how many people have nose rings these days. Now, you never consciously recognized this yourself. However, ever since your friend mentioned this anomaly, you now can’t help but notice how many people actually do walk around with nose rings. Of course, nothing has really changed, however you are now noticing more nose rings than ever before because the Law of Concentration is at work. Your brain has picked up that “nose rings” are now important to you, and as a result, you are noticing more nose rings than ever before.

All this is incredibly significant because it suggests that if you focus your mind on the right kinds of things, you will attract more of those things into your life. Therefore if you focus on solutions, you will attract more solutions. If you focus on love, you will attract more love. And if you focus on opportunity, you will attract more opportunities into your life.

Whatever you concentrate on grows in your reality whether you like it or not. Therefore it’s important to consistently concentrate on the things you want more of in your life.

The Law of Cause-Effect

The Law of Cause and Effect states that whatever you sow you will reap.

Every result and/or experience you have in your life is simply an “effect”. It is the result of a “cause” that was set in motion some time ago. Now, of course, you might not know what that cause was, however, it is important to realize that there is always a cause. There is, in fact, a cause for everything you have and/or don’t have in your life right now.

You are for instance living in poverty today because of all the choices you have made before this day. Therefore, the choices you have made and the subsequent actions you have taken have resulted in your current reality. Of course some of those decisions might have been minor, however, every decision has had some kind of effect on your life, and you are now experiencing the consequences of those decisions.

The thoughts you have on a daily basis; the emotions you experience; the words you speak; the questions you ask; the expectations you hold onto; the beliefs you adopt; the values you try to live up to; the people you talk to; the habits you indulge in or choose not to indulge in; the gratitude or anger you feel, etc, all create a chain-reaction of events that have shaped your life as you know it. Therefore, in order to create a different life, you will need to start doing things differently than you have been doing them in the past, or otherwise, you will keep living through the same patterns day-after-day and nothing will ever change.

What you sow, you will reap. Therefore sow the seeds that will help you create a better life for yourself.

This “sowing” process, of course, begins internally within your psyche where you must work on cultivating empowering beliefs, helpful thoughts, and congruent values. That is where the process of change must start taking shape, and that is the where the “cause” of all your “effects” will come from.

The Universal Laws of Manifestation

The Law of Belief

The Law of Belief states that what you believe with feeling creates your reality.

Consider for a moment that the sum total of your beliefs have created the “you” you are today. You are therefore nothing more than a cluster of beliefs, which are made up of thoughts, emotionalized experiences, and memories. These things have made you who you are today, and they are shaping you into who you will become tomorrow.

Whatever you believe becomes your reality because your beliefs shape the decisions you will make and actions you will take. Therefore if you have a limiting set of beliefs, then you will make poor decisions and take half-hearted actions that don’t get you the results that you desire to create in your life. As such, your beliefs limit your potential by preventing you from taking the steps necessary to achieve your goals and objectives.

Your beliefs do of course shape your life whether you want them to or not. They either encourage you to take positive action towards the attainment of your goals, or they will encourage you to take action in an opposite direction. Either way, they are shaping your life, for better or worse.

The Law of Emotion

The Law of Emotion states that whatever you emotionalize accelerates the manifestation process.

Whenever you have a thought, neural connections are made in the brain. Then the more times you have the same thought, the neural connections within the brain are strengthened, and over time this thought becomes somewhat of a habit.

Whenever you have an emotional thought, those neural connections grow faster and are stronger. As such, it’s much easier to develop a habitual thoughts/behavior when you emotionalize your experience. As a result, the emotions you couple together with a thought can help accelerate the manifestation process.

All this is very significant because your thoughts become beliefs, and your beliefs become actions, and your actions become results in your life. Therefore the faster you are able to develop the necessary habitual patterns in your mind, the more you will do to achieve the outcomes you desire to manifest in your life.

Finally, as you emotionalize an experience you simultaneously set all other universal laws into motion. And when you have all these laws working towards one definitive outcome, that is when incredible things begin to manifest in your life. They manifest not through some miracle, but rather as a result of the focus, concentration, and effort you put into this process.

The Law of Least Effort

The Law of Least Effort states that things are most readily achieved with least action and no resistance.

This law is all about relinquishing emotional attachment to your outcomes. This is very significant because when we are attached to our outcomes we often sabotage ourselves when things tend not to go our way.

Have a think about mother nature for a moment. Nature works with least effort all of the time. It doesn’t try to do anything. It simply exists within the flow of life. For instance, it doesn’t take grass effort to grow, a fish doesn’t try to swim, a flower doesn’t try to bloom. All of these things just happen, effortlessly and naturally. And it’s within this “flow” that you will find the Law of Least Effort.

Too much effort put into something will tend to push your desires away because with effort comes emotion, and with emotion comes doubt, frustration, overwhelm, worry, etc. And with these emotions directing your choices and behaviors, you automatically send mixed intentions out into the universe. And the moment these conflicts arise, that is the moment when problems come into full view.

This all comes back to the manifestation process where you must detach yourself from your desired outcomes. Things will happen how they are supposed to happen. Just like nature grows and evolves in surprising ways, so to will your journey towards your desired outcomes.

Some things along your journey will pan out as you had expected, however many other things won’t end up as expected, and that’s perfectly okay. At any moment in time, you only have a very limited view of your circumstances. You can’t control everything, and you certainly won’t be able to predict every step moving forward. This is when you must just let things go and offer no resistance. Get into the flow of life and take things as they come. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t work with purpose. However, what it does mean is that if things go wrong, you shouldn’t lose your head. Just accept what is and view the circumstances as being part of a master plan that you don’t quite fully understand at this moment.

Let’s recall again what Steve Jobs once said:

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.” — [Stanford commencement speech, June 2005]

The Law of Giving

The Law of Giving states that the more you give, the more you will receive.

To put this law to work for you, you must give that which you would like to get back. Therefore give love if you want love, give praise if you want praise, help raise someone’s self-esteem if you want to boost your own self-esteem, or teach someone something that you would like to learn yourself, etc. This is all about just giving of yourself in as many ways as possible. The more you give the more you will learn about your own self and about your own needs.

This law functions because by giving to others you are naturally putting yourself in a position to receive. This all comes down to opportunities and the fact that you are exposing yourself to many people and circumstances. The law of averages states that the more you expose yourself in this way, the more likely you are to acquire the opportunities you need to receive what you’re giving.

This law also intertwines with some of the other universal laws, in particular, the Law of Concentration. As you focus on giving to others, your brain puts a primary importance on these things you are focusing on. And as a result, you start identifying more things and opportunities that are related to the things you are giving. It then comes down to your ability to take advantage of the opportunities you are presented with in order to receive that which you originally gave to others.
